In Benahavis lived a adolescence that would mark his first concerns about culture. It was not until 2000 when he started his career after experimenting with music, his other passion, for a while. Curro signs his neat work with different technical, styles and format that are exhibited in private collections, not forgetting his great projection in works of a public nature, such as the murals of the Palace of Fairs and Congresses of Marbella, various creations in Benahavis, and his imprint exhibited in the Route of Artistic Murals of Estepona, locality where Leyton's signature is shown in seven large murals

In 2017 he was named honorary member of the University of St Johns and represents Spain in the New York Hispanic Fashion Show with his work. The prestigious Spanish Benelovent Society La Nacional cultural center in New York and the City of Benahavis are just some of the institutions and entities with which Curro Leyton collaborates.

Precisely, the works of his Quijote collection in the 21st century could be admired in the New York Hispanic day in 2016, as a contribution to the IV Centenary of the death of Cervantes.

One of his works in this series is the current Don Quijote Prize, which is delivered by the Hispanic community of the Big Apple, where he also participated again, this time with the work Quijote in the Guernica, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the universal work of Picasso
